Youth imports premium fibers from around the world. Each batch undergoes a systematic analysis of fibre parameters including length, strength, neps, maturity, short fibre percentage, contamination, trash and yellow spots.

The data is combined and subjected to an extensive appraisal system in order to allocate the fibers to the correct product line. The raw material testing lab is also used for checking 'in process' fibers during the various stages of production.

Because it is important to have an effective bale management system to ensure correct fiber combinations.

In cotton lines we employ automatic bale management systems to certify correct mixing percentages for consistent fibre properties to avoid shade variation during fabric dyeing. Cotton bales are stocked up to 3 months in order to provide our repeat customers with consistent quality from the same batch of fibers.

In the blow room dual contamination clearing systems are installed back-to-back to reduce contamination levels and ensure dust free yarns. Once clean, the yarns undergo the auto levelers in the carding and draw frame process to create uniformity.

Long term yarn variations are also avoided during the speed frame process by an automatic stretch control device. These machines are monitored online on a 24 hr basis in order to detect deviation.

The sliver cans used to transport fibers are designed and manufactured in Japan to meet our specific requirements. We use large size cans that are fixed with special castors and alloy springs to prevent sliver-stretch. We also implement a can colour coding system to prevent product mix-ups.

Finally, all machineries from blow room to autoconers feature auto-doffing facilities to avoid manual mishandlings and human error.

All the winding positions at Youth are connected with the Uster Expert to monitor yarn quality. This includes a special UV light inspection system to detect yarn imperfections.

Once winded, the yarns are conditioned for a smooth performance in subsequent processes and inspected once again under UV light for shade variation.

Before dispatch, samples from each lot are knitted, dyed and inspected in-house to simulate user trials for barrenness, fabric appearance and contamination levels. Knitted fabrics are examined by experts on fabric inspection machines with through-put lighting systems.

Yarns are packed in bags and weighed by digital auto weighing scales.

As a result, every machine in the production line is connected to a central server in the Quality Assurance lab. This provides us with measurements around the clock for all quality related matters. Other components, such as sales, stores & spares, accounting and finance modules are also linked to the centralized server to allow a smooth flow of information between the factory and head office.

The ERP provides us with operational transparency and equips our team with instantaneous lab appraisals to ensure that quality standards are complied with from fibre to fabric, production to sales.
